Professional Photography Prints on Metal
As a photographer, I look for the best mediums to print pictures to decorate my own home and office. I like printed and matted pictures, but my favorite is professional photography prints that are printed on metal. Photography wall art home decor printed on metal is high definition and the color of the print is head turning. It is hard to describe the extreme beauty of metal prints and certainly hard to see on a computer screen. The rich vivid color of the prints is jaw dropping.
There are three main reasons my preference is metal in my home:
- It is a modern frameless look and goes with many types of home decor.
- The three-dimensional look that it gives the pictures makes landscape prints look fantastic.
- I am a neat freak and they can be cleaned with glass cleaner, a swiffer duster or dust cloth or a damp cloth.
Metal wall art prints go with all types of home decor
By picking the scenery and theme of the picture, metal prints go with any type of home decor. The focal point of the picture becomes the subject and not the framing.
Landscape artwork pops when printed on metal
With the high gloss finish and polyurethane polymers below, images printed on metal appear to pop with color. Because of the luster finish, metal photo prints highlight water such as oceans and beaches, mountain peaks — especially snow-capped peaks, architectural elements in a photo and pretty much any landscape feature. Colors look the way you expect them to look but enhanced and in high definition.
Metal has a float mount. So it sits off the wall. The prints I order are 3/4 inch float mount.

Durability of metal photography wall art
The surface coating of metal prints is not only very tough, it is scratch resistant. They are also fade resistant, UV resistant and water proof.
Frameless or Framed?
Metal is extremely lightweight. It looks fantastic frameless. If you purchase from a reputable manufacturer, it is ready to hang. However, I have seen several people purchase a metal print and frame it and it also looks terrific.
The downside to metal
The downside to metal photography prints is the cost. They do cost more than a printed picture. But if you have a printed picture professionally framed, the cost can even out. The lifecycle of metal photography prints surpasses that of even the best photographic papers. When looking for fine art photography prints for your home decor, consider metal prints.
A word of caution
Make sure that you purchase metal prints from a reputable company or photographer. Not all metal is created equal. Be aware of discount services as quality as well as mounting may be inferior.
